Szczecin is located at an intersection of routes of all means of transport. It constitutes a crucial international transport hub within the route of the trans-European North-South transport corridor leading from South Scandinavia, through the Oder river waterway, the Czech Republic, and Austria to the ports of the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated on the route linking Russia and Finland with Western Europe via the Baltic Sea.
